Since September 2009, Whitecap has experienced remarkable growth, increasing production from 850 boe/d to over 365,000 boe/d. As a majority owner and operator of the Weyburn EOR Project, annually we safely sequester approximately 1.5 million tonnes of CO 2 making it a unique project within our portfolio.

The Gas Plant Operator will be responsible for holding the field to high Health Safety & Environment standards in a cost effective manner. As the Gas Plant Operator, you will be responsible to monitor equipment and workers, troubleshoot and deal with any emergencies that may arise. The candidate should reside in the Fox Creek, Alberta area due to the location of the role and frequent traveling which is required.
- Monitor and optimize physical and chemical process for several processing units
- Control process start up, shut down and trouble shoot refrigeration and fractionation trains
- Sample products, perform tests and record data
- Develop operator procedures for normal operation, start up or shut down
- Ensure detailed log completion and transfer information at shift change
- Ensure the appropriate focus is given to safety and environmental considerations
- Operate equipment to refine and process petroleum products
- Conduct and assist with equipment inspections
- Start-up and shutdown plant equipment
- Maintain equipment and make minor repairs or request that repair and maintenance work be done
- 24-hour callout is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Post-secondary education would be considered an asset; High school diploma is required
- 4th Class Power Engineering and/or GPO certification are assets
- Minimum 2 years related experience would be considered an asset
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills are required
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and conflicting demands is required
- Related technical tickets are considered an asset
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Safety training must be current and up-to-date; meeting all Crescent Point U.S. Corp standards.
