Responsibilities
•Oversee day-to-day operations of the Garden Center, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
•Coordinate and lead special events, managing all aspects including food trucks and advertising.
•Manage the retail building and its employees, fostering a team that aligns with business goals and priorities.
•Handle product ordering for retail sales and maintain inventory control.
•Enhance sales through effective merchandising and customer service for both wholesale and retail clients.
•Guide team leaders and assist them in managing their staff effectively.
•Prepare work schedules and assign tasks to employees.
•Implement company policies and ensure safety requirements are met.
•Report weekly to the Department Head on the division’s performance.
•Contribute to a positive and meaningful work experience for the team and co-workers.
Qualifications
•4-year college degree or 3 years of hands-on experience in a related field.
•Knowledge of plants and garden center operations.
•Proficiency in computer skills and POS operating systems.
•Experience in merchandising and retail management.
•Flexible schedule with mandatory weekends and overtime during busy seasons.
•Strong customer service and sales skills.
•Ability to train and develop employees.
•Previous experience managing a seasonal team or business is preferred.
