Responsibilities
•Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Garden Center, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
•Implement and follow opening and closing procedures.
•Lead all marketing initiatives, including managing the website, social media, events, classes, and advertising efforts.
•Monitor inventory control, including ordering and purchasing materials, and creating pricing labels.
•Coordinate special events, head the event committee, and manage all aspects of events, including food trucks and advertising.
•Build and lead a team that aligns with business goals and priorities to maximize sales and profitability.
•Understand all aspects of retail operations, including keeping up with the latest trends, inventory control, and enhancing sales through effective displays.
•Manage team leaders and support them in managing their staff effectively.
•Prepare work schedules and assign tasks to employees.
•Implement company policies and safety requirements.
•Report weekly to the Department Head on the division’s performance.
•Oversee the receiving and placement of products and goods.
•Foster a positive and meaningful work experience for the team and co-workers.
•Handle all Public Relations for the Garden Center.
Qualifications
•4-year college degree or 3 years of hands-on experience in a related field.
•Proven marketing experience.
•Proficient computer skills and experience with POS systems.
•Flexible schedule with mandatory weekends and overtime during busy seasons.
•Knowledge of pest scouting, IPM, and organic pest control is preferred.
•Excellent customer service and sales skills.
•Ability to train and develop employees.
•Previous experience managing a seasonal team or business is preferred.
•Ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
•Strong communication and leadership skills.
