PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Direct and coordinate the efforts of employees, materials, and equipment to ensure the gage lab operates in a smooth, safe, and productive manner.
•Use simple and complex precision instruments and equipment in the calibration of gages used in inspection.
•Maintain calibration documentation of all gages utilized to qualify products and processes
•Maintain calibration documentation on all service gages used to determine acceptance of product or used to monitor and/or control processes
•Perform minor repairs on gages and equipment as required
•Perform diagnostic work and repair most of the instruments under the care of the Supervisor
•Coordinate repairs with service vendors to ensure the continuous performance and validity of inspection and calibration equipment
•Establish programs and train employees in proper care and use of calibration equipment
•Work closely with the Licensee group to schedule connection qualifications and fulfill gage order requests
•Interact regularly with production employees to resolve gaging issues as they occur.
•Collaborate with Product and Metallurgical Engineering groups.
•Schedule periodic contracted Calibrations of various instruments
•Schedule inspection qualification for all inserts used in the threading process within the facility and licensee groups
•Establish and maintain department budget and expenses.
•Ensure employees understand and operate per all HSE and Quality processes and procedures.
•Effectively communicate with employees daily, following company policy and guidelines.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Thread Inspection, MT LII, and UT LII certifications are desired but not required .*
•Some travel may be required
•Experience in developing an inclusive, team-oriented culture.
•Possess above-average communication skills.
•Able to use a variety of software systems for documentation and tracking purposes.
•Familiar with API requirements for calibration preferred.
•Familiarity with ASTM E 709, ASTM E 1444, ANSI Z540-1, as well as NIST calibration requirements is preferred.
•Must be able to pass screening exams (math and reading comprehension) with a minimum score of 80%.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
•High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
•A minimum of 2 years of manager or supervisor experience in a quality assurance program is required.
•Previous experience with gage calibration and metrology is strongly preferred.
•Fluent Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
•Proficiency within Microsoft Office is required
•Experience utilizing Oracle is preferred
