About This Job

Gilson Inspection Services, part of Gilson Housing Partners, is a trusted provider of housing solutions nationwide. We partner with Housing Authorities to ensure rental properties meet Public Housing Quality Standards (PHQS) and comply with local housing codes.

We are currently hiring a Full-Time Housing Inspector in Montgomery County, MD. This is a field-based role—ideal for someone with experience in housing inspections, property management, or a related field who enjoys working independently and making a positive impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities

•

Conduct initial, annual, special, and re-inspections of residential rental units, including those under the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.

•

Ensure compliance with PHQS, Section 8 program guidelines, and local building codes.

•

Use our digital inspection software (training provided) to accurately document findings.

•

Communicate professionally with tenants, landlords, and housing authority staff.

•

Write clear, concise inspection reports and recommend necessary repairs.

Requirements

•

Experience in housing inspections, property management, construction, or code enforcement is preferred.

•

Must have a valid driver’s license, a personal vehicle, and current insurance.

•

Must be comfortable using technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and mobile apps.

•

Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret housing regulations.

•

Must pass a background check and mandatory drug test.

•

Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required.
