Job: SK Geotechnical is a leading geotechnical engineering firm in Montana and is currently seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude to join our geotechnical engineering drill team. Experience is the drilling field is preferred, but not mandatory. Most of our drilling work is throughout Montana with occasional trips to nearby states. Up to 80% travel should be expected.
· Assist crew chief in all possible manners in the field and collection of field data, rig maintenance, and support truck maintenance.
· Connect and disconnect drilling equipment by hand and with pipe wrenches.
· Return field samples in an organized and complete manner for the engineers/geologists assigned to the project.
· Load and unload equipment needed for drilling.
· Other labor duties as assigned by drill crew chief and/or department supervisor. These duties include cleaning company trucks, cleaning shop space, welding augers, washing sample jars, sweeping floors, and many other duties associated with drilling and yard operations.
· Drive a 1-ton truck pulling trailers, and backing trailers up safely.
· Valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable by our insurance company (MVR record).
· Must be capable of lifting 75 pounds.
· Willing to travel during throughout the week, occasional weekend work when jobs dictate.
· Have CDL, or willing to obtain CDL.
· CDL or willing to study/train to get CDL
· Nightly lodging completely paid for when out of town
· Daily per diem for meals when out of town
· $26 to $29 per hour depending on experience.
· Overtime pay at 1.5 times hourly for hours worked over 40 hour per week.

Overtime is common during the busy season. When out of town, company pays full cost of individual motel room and a meal allowance of at least $40 per travel day and $50 per full day.
