Fuels Compliance Manager
Position Overview
The CFR 1090 Fuels Compliance Manager ensures compliance with EPA fuel regulations under 40 CFR Part 1090, which govern fuel quality, registration, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements across the fuel supply chain. This role supports operational integrity and environmental stewardship through vigilant compliance, audits, and strategic guidance.
Key Responsibilities
+ Interpret and implement fuel regulatory requirements per EPA’s 40 CFR Part 1090
+ Oversee reporting, and recordkeeping systems
+ Ensure facility-wide and partner compliance with fuels regulations.
+ Maintain company fuel compliance plans and update policies/procedures as regulations evolve
+ Develop and manage systems and required documentation
+ Coordinate attestation and respond to client inquiries
•Reporting & Documentation
+ Prepare and submit EPA reports
+ Ensure timely creation of attest engagement documentation and work closely with external auditors
•Stakeholder Collaboration
+ Liaise with customers, auditors, and regulatory agencies on fuel compliance issues
+ Deliver staff training and continuous education on CFR 1090 obligations
•Identify non-compliance risks and develop corrective action plans
•Track regulatory developments and evaluate their impact on operations
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
•Minimum 2 years of experience with EPA fuels programs or equivalent environmental regulatory role
•In-depth knowledge of 40 CFR 1090
•Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
•Basic understanding of laboratory testing
