Pride Disposal & Recycling Company is a family owned and operated garbage and recycling company that provides service to businesses, multi-family complexes and residential customers in Washington County.
Now hiring full time driver for local routes. This is a union position (Teamsters 305). CDL B is required for all driving positions, some CDL A work is available. Position can be extremely physical. All drivers must exit their vehicles for manual activities throughout the day. These activities can vary by truck type but some examples include: loading glass bins, collecting extra material next to containers, moving front load containers in and out of enclosures, cleaning out trucks at the end of the day, etc.
This position is for a front load truck on night shift. Tuesday night through Friday nights (4 days a week, 10 hour shifts), start time 5:30pm
· Experience backing large vehicles into tight areas
All trucks operate with on-board computer systems and digital video recording devices. Pride is known as one of the most technologically advanced solid waste companies in the state of Oregon. Many trucks in our fleet operate with CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).
Pride Disposal & Recycling Company supports a drug-free work environment. After a job offer is made, we conduct DOT Drug testing. Random drug screens are also done on a quarterly basis. Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record is required. E-Verify is completed when employment begins.
Union benefit package including medical premium for you and your dependents primarily paid for by the company.
Starting Wage for CDL license holder: $28.19/hour (85% of union scale). This starting wage is negotiable based on experience. Full union scale is $33.17/hour
Shift Premium: Night drivers receive a shift premium of $1.25/hour on top of standard hourly wages.
Vacation Time: All incoming employees accrue 80 hours of vacation time in their first year of employment. Incoming CDL drivers with 5 or more years of CDL driving experience in the solid waste industry within the past 8 years will start accruing 120 hours in their first year of employment.
