The Forklift Operator will use a sit-down industrial forklift machine to move merchandise, pallets of product and heavy merchandise within the warehouse work area including loading and unloading merchandise off and, on a truck, plus will accomplish various additional materials handling assignments.
- Follows all safety rules for warehouse including wearing of PPE – steel toe shoes, safety vest, gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection at all times.
- Conducts daily pre-inspection of forklift prior to operating it, documents and escalates mechanical or electrical concerns to General Manager, services equipment as needed.
- Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including loading docks, trucks, and storage areas.
- Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
- Applies understanding of machine loading capacity ensuring the load is secured and pallets are not overloaded.
- Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
- Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.
- Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
- Cleans and prepares specific areas of work site as assigned. This may include cleaning up debris, and trash, or removing materials such as cardboard, shrink wrap and pallets.
- Immediately reports all accidents and near accidents to Manager.
- Performs other related duties as requested and related to working on and off the forklift.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1-3 years of driving a forklift or warehouse experience preferred.
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
- Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours a day.
