We are seeking a skilled and experienced Gravel Pit Development Foreman to lead field operations for aggregate extraction, site grading, and material placement. This role is critical to ensuring efficient pit development, environmental compliance, and high-quality site preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthworks, team leadership, and heavy equipment coordination.
This is a rotational camp position, supporting and working on projects in the Tsay Keh Dene area. Camp accommodations will be provided while on site.
- Plan and execute an operational layout for gravel pit development.
- Coordinate equipment staging, haul routes, and access roads.
- Supervise removal and strategic stockpiling of overburden for future reclamation.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and reclamation guidelines.
- Oversee identification and separation of aggregate types.
- Maintain quality control during excavation and stockpiling.
- Manage hauling schedules and logistics to optimize productivity.
- Ensure safe and efficient transport of materials across the site.
- Direct grading operations to meet design specifications.
- Supervise final placement and compaction of materials for surface integrity.
- Lead and mentor crew members, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections, and progress reporting.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in gravel pit operations or civil earthworks.
- Proficient in reading site plans, grading specs, and reclamation documents.
- Strong knowledge of aggregate materials, compaction techniques, and heavy equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license; safety certifications preferred.
