Specific Responsibilities
The Production Foreman, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Productions Operations team at the company’s Pecos TX, office reporting to the Production Operations Manager.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
- Effective supervision of electricians and contractors.
- Enforce Apache Supervisor’s Safety and Health Compliance and State Environmental Compliance manuals. Ensure that these policies are followed on each job.
- Maximize production and minimize downtime by reacting quickly and decisively.
- Recognize areas where optimization of electrical equipment will provide cost effective solutions.
- Offer optional solutions to production foremen and pumpers.
- Stay current with technology to provide the best electrical equipment available that is cost-effective.
- Identify and eliminate repetitive failures or outages
- Work with electricians to identify cost savings in labor and material
- Review rates and monthly costs to insure Apache is receiving full value for services and materials.
- Generate new ideas to reduce electrical costs in all facets of production.
- Review and evaluate each technician’s job performance as needed.
- Be a good company representative.
- Treat vendors and contractors with respect and conduct yourself in a business-like manner.
- Maintain ethical relationships with vendors and contractors.
- Participate in industry functions and portray a positive image for Apache.
- Safeguard all company assets.
- Review operating procedures and identify potential problems before they occur.
- Review all repair procedures and methods to ensure that safety hazards and environmental impacts are minimized.
- Review each project or job with the individual economics as an integral part of the procedure.
- Provide a training and learning atmosphere.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5-8 years related experience with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications and other PC based computer applications
- Excellent communication and grammar skills, exhibited both in conversation and written materials
- Ability to anticipate and recognize problems, then develop solutions with minimal coaching
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ensures accuracy of all reports
- Safety minded in performing day-to-day tasks
- Familiarity of all lease equipment and functions
- Adequate knowledge to identify downhole problems
- Good driving record
- Team player
- Job is classified as medium physical work
- Occasionally may be required to lift, carry, push or pull 10-100 pounds
- Occasionally may require squatting, crawling and climbing
- Frequently may require bending, reaching above shoulders, reaching to the floor, reading, writing, working at heights and working around moving machinery
- Frequently exposed to marked changes in weather conditions including temperature and humidity
- Continuously exposed to dust, fumes and gases
- Continuously works independently without supervision and requires quick or important decision making
- Must be able to drive a vehicle and have the ability to wear respirator protection and personal protective equipment, as required.
