Job Summary:
The Foreman leads their crew to complete daily tasks related to the completion of natural gas distribution system projects. This includes installing, replacing, and maintenance of plastic and steel facilities, as well as meter and regulator settings, and restoration of soft and hard surfaces. This is a Working Foreman position that also oversees crew safety and productivity, installing, and pressure testing pipe, as well as completing documentation for the work. The position interacts directly with customers to ensure a full understanding of the work being performed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Coordinate and lead crew work to install natural gas facilities
•Serve as a single point of contact with crew members, customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors performing work in the field
•Utilize the Energy Wheel to identify job and site-specific hazards
•Ensure safety and productivity of each job
•Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and field leaders
•Continually monitor the site for changing safety conditions and related issues
•Follow all established safety and OSHA rules and regulations
•Ensure daily operations are completed in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements
•Maintain a safe and clean workspace, including company equipment and vehicles
•Observe proper loading and securing of equipment on any trailers
•Verify all necessary materials for each job
•Complete all paperwork in a timely manner
•Track employee hours and submit for payroll on a timely basis
•Be proficient in plastic fusion, plastic squeeze-off, pressure testing, and meter set build
Minimum Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•3 years of gas construction experience
•Ability to interpret plan sets and maps
•Ability to read technical instructions
•Proficient operation of smart devices (phone, tablet, laptop)
•Understands sloping and shoring requirements
•Ability to work outdoors in densely populated and remote areas
•Work while standing or sitting for several hours at a time
•Ability to work in small and sometimes confined spaces
•Reach, bend, stoop while performing work
•Ability to safely climb up and down a ladder
•Obey all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rules and regulations
•Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment
•DOT physical or ability to obtain one upon employment
Preferred Qualifications:
•5+ year gas construction experience
