Position Overview and Purpose
The Fleet Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of all Baseline fleet vehicles. The Fleet Specialist also serves as the primary contact concerning vehicle fleet and operations.
Responsibilities
•Administers fleet asset management processes from procurement to disposition
•Work with leasing company/manufacturer to ensure design and terms of contracts are equitable to Baseline Energy Services
•Handle all company truck and trailer registration and insurance (this includes temporary tags, apportioned plates, state endorsements, etc.)
•Partner with approved marketing vendor to ensure consistent branding elements across all Baseline fleet
•Equip all Baseline fleet with any required accessories inside the cab, including fleet monitoring system
•Understand vehicle utilization, design, and repair frequencies to develop metrics for a cost effective fleet
•Monitor and track fleet spending on a cost per mile basis and work towards reducing spending within industry standards
•Facilitate vendor repair work to ensure recommended repairs are commensurate with vehicle issues and verify that warrantee claims are properly utilized
•Oversee Baselines fleet maintenance program and accounts ensuring alignment with manufacturing service interval recommendations
•Assist with vehicle incident reports, investigations, and claims with insurance companies
•Identify region specific failure trends that affect the bottom line
•Conduct fleet or maintenance-related training to include new hire, post-inspection, or behavior-based training
•Train all non-DOT and DOT team members on vehicle usage and maintenance requirements
•Work alongside HSE Department to review and aid in the implementation of driving and vehicle safety guidelines and procedures for Baseline team members
•Conduct periodic vehicle and trailer inspections across entire Baseline fleet
•Oversee disbursement and usage of company fuel cards
•Provide monthly analytics to the organization for cost, driving metrics, maintenance information, and vehicle vendors
Qualifications
•Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain accuracy of fleet information
•Must have prior experience managing a remote fleet of vehicles
•Minimum 5+ years experience in fleet specialist role
•Experience in oil and gas or related industry preferred
