Fire Sprinkler System Inspector/Service Technician
Job Requirements:
The primary function of the Fire Sprinkler System Inspector/Service Technician is to work at the direction of a Fire Sprinkler Service Foreman to complete the servicing and inspecting of fire protection piping, valves, and accessories for commercial and industrial application. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Service and inspect equipment on wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
•Complete tasks as assigned at job-site, such as the service, inspection, repair, and/or maintenance on all types of fixed piping fire suppression systems.
•Read and interpret blueprints.
•Maintain proper documentation for work performed.
•Adhere to company policies and procedures.
•Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as walking on uneven surfaces and climbing stairs (multi-story buildings), ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
•Must be detail oriented and organized.
•Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
•Must be able to meet deadlines and scheduling requirements.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•A minimum of 3 years’ experience with fire sprinkler installation/inspection/service.
•NICET certification or willingness to obtain NICET certification.
•Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
•Must be able to carry/move heavy equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs and perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
•Must be able to work in all types of weather.
•Must be able to frequently stand, walk, climb, lift, bend, kneel, stretch, and work in high places, on rigging, and in ditches.
•Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends, on-call rotation, and overnight traveling to meet customer and/or job requirements.
