Fire Assay Technicians contribute to Actlabs success by performing a variety of tasks in the mineral analysis process. Once brought on and trained successfully on day shift(for 2-3 months as to be determined), this role will be performed on the afternoon shift.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
· Carry out Fire Assay procedures i.e. fluxing, fusing and cupelling samples as per written procedures
· Mix dry chemicals, load trays into a furnace (working in a hot environment) and pour samples
· Strict adherence with the company’s Health & Safety and Professional Conduct Policies
· Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English
· Read, understand, follow work instructions and guidelines accurately and safely
· Ability to problem solve, multi-task, meet deadline and perform in a fast-paced work environment to achieve turnaround requirement
· Proven time management skills, quality driven and attention to detail
· Ability to work well as a team member and independently
· Excellent eye-hand co-ordination and manual dexterity to perform tasks
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, clean shaven in order to safely wear PPE
· Rotating shift and extended hours may be required
