Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing alarm systems in residential and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, low voltage wiring, and mechanical knowledge to ensure the proper functioning of Fire Alarm Systems. The Fire Alarm Technician will work closely with clients to assess their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Qualifications

•Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
•Flexibility to travel throughout the Edmonton and surrounding areas
•Strong communication skills
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment
•Experience in fire alarm system installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
•Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints
•Strong electrical knowledge and ability to work with power tools
•Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including NFPA regulations
•Certification in fire alarm technology or equivalent experience is preferred
•Programming experience with fire alarm panels is an asset
•Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and possess a strong work ethic
Duties:
•Install, program, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and regulations.
•Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and in compliance with standards.
•Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning fire alarm equipment, including detectors, control panels, annunciators, and communication devices.
•Document all work performed, including inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs, accurately and thoroughly.
•Quote any repairs that are noted during the inspection.
•Provide technical support and assistance to customers and other team members as needed.
•Keep abreast of industry developments, new technologies, and changes in regulations related to fire alarm systems.
•Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful completion of installations and projects.
•Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety protocols and procedures.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
