What you'll do
As a Finishing Technician, you will support the development, optimization, and scaling of end-of-line manufacturing processes for advanced magnetic materials. This role will focus on activities including powder compaction, magnet assembly, coating, packaging, and process documentation. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable in a dynamic production environment, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Process Operations & Optimization
•Collaborate closely with Compaction Engineering to improve powder feed and magnet compaction techniques that influence final part properties
•Support development and refinement of magnet assembly processes, including design and fabrication of custom fixtures
•Assist in the development and implementation of magnet coating processes and related automation technologies
Manufacturing Support & Data Collection
•Assist with equipment specification and integration for machining, assembly, coating, packaging, and automation processes
•Participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to address product and process issues
Documentation & Training
•Create and update process documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and preventative maintenance procedures
•Provide training and hands-on guidance to other team members as processes are developed and scaled
Safety & Quality
•+ Adhere to and promote safety procedures in all work areas
+ Support the development of professional packaging methods to ensure product quality and durability
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
What we're looking for
•High School diploma or GED
•Experience in a collaborative production environment
•Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 lb.
•Ability to self-direct and meet deadlines
•Strong interpersonal, prioritization, and organizational skills
•Maintaining equipment and workspace cleanliness
•Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint
Nice to have
•Prior coating experience
•Application of coatings using various techniques
•Surface prep, taping, masking, and mixing chemicals
•Experience with adhesives and adhesion properties
•Attention to detail for defects and root cause analysis

•Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and skills
