In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations our Treasury and Financial Accounting Services Departments are currently hiring for Financial Analyst(s).
This is term position, which may be for a period of up to 60 months, offers a competitive compensation package and can be based on-site at either Tiverton, ON OR Toronto, ON Office locations.
The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for month end, quarter end and year end tasks including journal entries, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, preparation of working papers, recording financial obligations and transactions in the financial system. In addition, this role will support audit requests and controls compliance oversight. Successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate ability to work within strict deadlines, work independently and produce quality output in a rapid work environment.

Key
Responsibilities:* Provide support to the Finance department in carrying out the accountabilities in accordance with applicable legislation, programs, policies, procedures and agreements.
•Support the Treasury function in managing Bruce Power’s banking facilities and cash resources by enabling payments, preparing bank reconciliations, and assisting with cash flow forecasting.
•Maintain a professional awareness in relation to current accounting practice, IFRS/GAAP, and general business environment and the utility industry and be able to communicate impacts and implications throughout the business.
•Support management reporting requirements (e.g., internal financial statements, performance reports, Statistics Canada, other internal reports and ad-hoc reports) utilizing financial systems and other inputs.
•Support controls oversight and compliance efforts.
•Conduct detailed analysis of financial information, systems and processes as required.
•Work with external auditors to efficiently support audit procedures and requests.
•Maintain desktop procedures documentation current on system maintenance and support activities.
•Support simplification and improvement efforts.
•Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills:* Theoretical knowledge and relevant experience within the designated discipline is required.

•Requires good communication skills, both oral and written, to facilitate effective communications with others.
Education and Experience* This knowledge is normally considered to be acquired through the successful completion of a four-year university education in a relevant discipline, or attainment of a professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA) or by having the equivalent level of education such as an MBA.
•A professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA) is preferred.
•Requires experience in an Audit, Accounting or Financial environment to achieve a level of proficiency sufficient to understand all aspects of the Corporate Financial functions.
•A period of over 4 years and up to 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
