The Opportunity: Financial Analyst-Operations
Permanent, Full-Time unit position, based out of Whitehorse, Yukon.

Yukon Energy is seeking a talented individual to join our Operations team in Whitehorse, Yukon — where your analytical expertise meets both meaningful work and endless adventure!
Who we are: Yukon Energy is the primary generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the Yukon territory, operating within the Traditional Territories of Yukon First Nations. What will you do: As our Financial Analyst, you’ll support the operational and financial health of the department by:
•Analyzing cost and performance data to build clear, actionable financial reports,
•Developing and maintaining forecasting models, budget scenarios, and variance analyses,
•Partnering with cross-functional teams—from operations supervisors to corporate finance—to align insights with capital and O&M projects,
•Identifying trends, highlighting variances, and recommending efficiency improvements through robust financial modeling and forecasting.
What you need to succeed:
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
•2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within an operations environment.
Skills:
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (MS Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) preferably 365.
•Experience with financial software and ERP systems is a plus.
•Experience with EAM systems is a plus.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills.
•Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
•Ability to work unsupervised.

•Financial Acumen: In-depth knowledge of financial concepts, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
•Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
•Detail-Oriented: Precision and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
•Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across departments and collaborate with diverse teams.
•Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations and the ability to align financial strategies with operational goals.
A valid class 5 driver’s license is required.
Compensation: Level 8: $46.83/hr-$55.93/hr PLUS Northern Allowance.
