This position may require operating a Mechanic truck and must be able to pass DOT Medical Clearance. Must be willing and able to travel to different projects. The Field Service Technician must have the ability to lift, load/unload parts and materials, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and perform repairs on rock crushing equipment and other machinery. The Field Service Tech is also responsible for servicing equipment at the shop. Additionally, they assist in cultivating customer relationships. They are also vital to maintaining an orderly and safe work environment in the field and shop.
The position requires strong communication with Service Manager, Field Sales Team, Customer and other team members regarding maintenance activities, repairs and safety. The position is responsible for performing all duties and responsibilities within applicable OSHA and MSHA regulations, company policy, and exercises ordinary care expected of a professional Field Service Technician.
This is a safety sensitive position that requires the ability to perform substantial walking, sitting, squatting, standing, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and being able to get on and off equipment safely. The position is also responsible for using a variety of tools: hand tools, power tools, drill presses, grinding machines, welding and flame-cutting equipment, and jacks and hoists to lift and move large parts.
A Field Service Technician must be able to perform pre and post-truck inspections, maintain driver logs and ensure DOT compliance at all times. To repair equipment, Technicians often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty parts, and stand or lie in awkward or strained positions.
