Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Superintendent to oversee installation of our doors at the job site from when material is delivered to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with project specifications. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a thorough understanding of construction processes. The ideal candidate should have experience assembling and erecting structural steel as well as a good working knowledge of industrial electricity.
Duties
•Be available to travel to the job site. Most sites are in the United States, however on rare occasion, a job may be overseas. Time at each site varies depending on the job.
•Supervise daily operations on the construction site to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
•Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide project execution.
•Manage project scheduling and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
•Conduct regular inspections of the site.
•Maintain adherence to OSHA regulations and promote a culture of safety among all team members.
•Experience dealing with our customer in a professional manner at the sites. You are the face of Fleming Steel on these sites.
•Provide leadership and direction to field erection personnel, fostering a collaborative work environment. The field crews are Ironworkers, operating Engineers and Electricians.
Qualifications
•Proven experience in supervising construction projects.
•Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of construction schematics.
•Knowledge of material handling using cranes and forklifts of all types.
•Welding experience is needed, mostly stick welding, but some knowledge of MIG welding is beneficial.
•Knowledge of OSHA standards and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
•Proficient in using tools such as an ohmmeter for quality assurance tasks.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
•Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
•Must have a Real ID or Passport, be able to pass an in-depth background check as required for security issues at job sites, as we work at large airports and military bases, no criminal convictions, pending or outstanding issues.
