The Field Specialist plays a critical role in supporting oil and gas field operations, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of drilling, completions, production, and maintenance activities. This position requires strong technical expertise, hands-on fieldwork, and a commitment to safety and service quality while working in remote and demanding environments.
- Perform hands-on field operations, including equipment installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Operate, monitor, and test specialized oilfield tools and equipment to support drilling, completions, and production activities.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct pre-job inspections, job safety analyses (JSAs), and risk assessments before field activities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field crews during rig-up, rig-down, and job execution.
- Communicate job progress, issues, and results with supervisors, engineers, and client representatives.
- Complete detailed field service reports, equipment logs, and documentation for regulatory and company records.
- Assist in mobilization and demobilization of tools, equipment, and crews to job sites.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and share feedback with management and engineering teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Petroleum Technology, or related field preferred).
- 2–5 years of oilfield service experience (drilling, completions, wireline, pressure pumping, coil tubing, or similar operations).
- Knowledge of oilfield equipment, wellsite operations, and downhole tools.
- Current safety certifications (e.g., H2S, SafeLand, Well Control, First Aid/CPR) preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot technical issues in the field.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with multi-disciplinary crews.
- Willingness to work long shifts, rotational schedules, and extended time in remote field environments.
- Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, on rigs, and at remote wellsites.
