Safety Power is the leading Canadian cleantech provider of environmental control equipment for large scale (1,000 to 10,000 HP) engine based gensets. This opportunity is a full-time permanent position.
Summary of Position:
Commissioning and start-up of new systems, including ongoing maintenance support to various client sites. The initial training period will be working as an Electromechanical Technician for approximately 6 months in the Panel Shop.
Responsibilities
•Provide both onsite and remote support for existing installations.
•Travel to various customer locations across Canada and the U.S. to commission and install new systems.
•Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in an effective manner.
•Collaborate with the Engineering team to make recommendations for product improvements and enhancements in the control logic.
•Work in accordance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
•Provide training on system operation to customers.
•All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
•One to two years of experience doing hands on mechanical or electrical repair or assembly.
•Completion of a recognized program in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical technology, including automotive repair.
•Access to a vehicle and hold a valid Ontario driver’s license.
•Must have a valid Canadian or U.S. passport, with ability to legally enter the United States for business travel.
•Available to travel approximately 35%.Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
•Excellent troubleshooting skills to effectively solve complex technical problems.
•Familiarity with hand tools and electrical multimeter.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Proficient computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
•Time management/organization skills.
•Previous experience working at heights an asset.
