Summary:
A Field Service Technician II will be skilled and understand the purpose and principles of operating valves. This role is responsible for installation, connection, servicing, testing, adjustment, repair, maintenance, removal, troubleshooting, inspection, and replacement of control valves.
Responsibilities:

Locate, use, and comprehend manufacturer installation and operation manuals
Perform inspection to identify necessary corrective action as authorized
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and customer requirements
Install instrumentation/accessories as necessary
Operate diagnostic equipment
Perform calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality procedures
Measure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specifications
Support Field Service Technician - I employees through mentoring and on-the-job training
May act in a leadership role for assigned jobs
Demonstrates sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are identified or detected when servicing control valves in the field
Ensures all products repaired/assembled meet the quality standards in accordance with procedures, engineering specifications, drawings, and work instructions
Performs functional tests as required
Collects data and documents and prepares detailed reports for customer review, billing records, and expense reporting
Assumes responsibility and handles multiple tasks under potentially stressful and hazardous conditions
Adheres to all policies and procedures
Practices safe work habits to ensure an injury free environment
Uses physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools
Climbs and works at various heights, sometimes working in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position
Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Be on the job and available to work overtime, at times for extended periods of time based on seasonal customer demands
Operate motor vehicle, as required
Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required
Any job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Positional Requirements & Qualifications: Education & Experience:
HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
2 - 5 years of industry experience
Skills & Abilities:
Completed MARC II certification
Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
Demonstrate the ability to properly assemble and test valves/equipment of multiple control valve manufacturers
Demonstrate proficient use of precision dimensional equipment (i.e. dial caliper, micrometer, etc.)
Demonstrate ability to bend and fit tubing
Completed inspection assessment
Completed certification training for use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipment
Completed diagnostic equipment training and/or certification
Demonstrate proficiency at pneumatic and digital positioner calibration
Effective oral & written communication skills
Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills
Supervision:
Minimal supervision required
Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
Essential Physical Functions
Lifting: up to 50 pounds
Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
Able to pass periodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
