Position Overview and Purpose
The Field Service Technician - Emissions position exists to oversee and monitor emissions compliance and telemetry connectivity for power generation equipment on rent throughout the Permian region. This person will be responsible for taking weekly emissions catalyst readings (DP and temp), reporting them to the customer and ensuring all engines are tuned and ready to pass emissions tests. This person will also be responsible for ensuring that all telemetry equipment is installed properly, reporting correctly and in working condition at all times.
Responsibilities
Maintain a Safety-first* culture that always ensures the protection and safety of Baseline employees and customers. This can include but is not limited to; attending customer safety meetings, auditing Field Service safety practices, frequently verifying that all work meets Baseline and customer standards, etc.
•Take weekly catalyst readings for differential pressure (DP) and temperature
+ Input the readings into a spreadsheet to send to the customers weekly
+ Change out catalyst tiles if readings are out of tolerance (+/- 2” water column)
•Perform engine tuning and spot checks on all engines scheduled for emissions testing
+ Adjust engine parameters and controller settings to ensure testing compliance
•Install Baseline telematics on all units
+ Hook up the gateway(s) and call the control room to ensure the data is reporting
+ Install directional antennas or dual sim card gateways if needed
•Perform preventative maintenance on industrial natural gas generators (5.7L to 21.9L in engine size) on customer locations. Basic maintenance items include:
+ Monthly oil change, spark plug change, oil and air filters, overhead valve adjustments, checking batteries, washing of radiators
•Mobilization and demobilization of generators to and from well sites.
Respond to call outs/alarms on a 24/7 basis while working or on call. Work may include night time and weekend call outs*
•Communicate professionally, efficiently, and frequently with customers (production foreman, pumpers, etc.) when issues arise
•Regularly drive a company vehicle to visit customer sites
•Maintain sufficient parts inventory to meet planned and unplanned inventory needs
