Role Definition
Installs, maintains and troubleshoots equipment at the customer's location using a set of tools, parts and technical diagrams. Customer service assignment includes on-site preventive maintenance and inspection service work, call-out services and commissioning activities on turbomachinery and package systems.
Field Repair Training ProgramMinimum 1 year training program on the Desoto campus for Field Repair growth - Areas the incumbent will need to familiarize themselves will include Disassembly, Rotating VS, Build Pits, Sub-Assembly Areas, and RGB build.
Position Objective* While working under close supervision of experienced FSR'S, assist in the removal, rework, and reassembly of the gas producer and associated components.
•Help recommissioning of the unit to meet schedule requirements. Conform to all Safety, quality, and environmental, electrical, and Solar standards during performance of duties.
•Work as a member of the Overhaul Field Repair team supporting activities guided by experienced turbine specialist at the customer’s site utilizing available documented instructions including engineering drawings and SFIS build instructions.
•Demonstrate/develop the ability to use specialized field repair tooling, power equipment, bench tools, hand tools, and inspection equipment.
•Demonstrate/develop the ability to perform disassembly, inspection, rework and reassembly of the gas producer and associated components in the performance of daily assignments.
•The Field Service Representative I will report directly to the FSS.
Principle Accountabilities* Understand and comply with Solar and customer Safety policies and procedures. Ensure the work permit system is complied with. Participates by attending general safety and toolbox safety meetings and completing all required safety training including CLMS training courses.
•Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded. Ensure all repair activities are carried out in accordance with company policy and manufacture's recommendations using good practices.
•Must have basic knowledge of methods and experience in the disassembly/assembly procedures of all Solar Turbine product lines and associated mechanical equipment including but not limited to RGB/Accessory gearboxes.
•Must be able to proactively recognize electrical/mechanical abnormalities and potential safety problems and take appropriate action to prevent a serious safety hazard from developing and causing damage to equipment or personnel. Provide daily updates to the FSS. Keep abreast of pending work and personnel required to complete the repair. Ensure that necessary parts are on site upon arrival and provide additional material request when required.
•Ensure effective communication and reporting to immediate supervision and if applicable, customer representatives.
•Will utilize sound judgment when analyzing problems. Solve problems with little or no supervision in a timely and cost-effective manner. Will be aware of procedures and options for identifying sources of information and technical advice. Will have sufficient product knowledge to repair the turbine and associated components. Will be capable of reading applicable drawings and technical manuals.
•Work individually or with assigned FSR'S on field repairs. Will be required to assist in a technical manner with the operations crew in any area if the workload exceeds the number of personnel available.
•Monitor on-site field repair activities to ensure they are carried out in line with Solar Engineering specifications, manufacturing recommendations and in a safe manner in accordance with the HSSE policies and procedures.
•Utilize FS&D, Work Force Management Process and all other applicable sources of information for job preparation. This includes performing pre-work by reviewing and updating site safety information and verifying parts and tooling is correct for applicable job.

Qualifications* The Field Service Representative I will have served a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent period of training.
•They will also possess a technical qualification e.g. Degree, HNC/ HND, ONC, C&G, Aviation Engineer’s license, Marine Engineers Certificate and will have 0 to 3 years' experience in a related industry.
•Higher experience/skill levels may balance lower academic qualifications, and vice versa.
•Experience in an overseas/offshore environment is desirable as is familiarity with rotating equipment. This experience will be Mechanical and will show aptitude for a cross-disciplined approach to the job.
•Where regionally required, the FSR I will hold and maintain an offshore medical and survival certificate and/or other training/certifications as needed.

Summary Pay Range:
$58,579.00 - $87,869.00
