The Field Service Lead Technician will install, replace, and perform routine and preventive maintenance on critical power systems. The Field Service Lead Technician will provide direction and oversite to other technicians while at the jobsite and act as company liaison to the customer.
The Field Service Lead Technician reports to the Service Manager.
Install/replace power electronics equipment/hardware, including wiring and connections
Perform preventive maintenance and testing on battery and battery charging systems in UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), Utility, and Telecommunication settings
Addition or removal of circuits on a working power distribution source
Installing temporary power plants and batteries on energized system
Adhere to all company and industry safety policies and procedures
Adhere to applicable customer, industry, and manufacturer's maintenance/installation methods and standards
Proper operation of basic tools and test equipment
Ability to work with a range of tools, from wrenches to multimeters
Possess troubleshooting skills and be able to effectively operate basic equipment
Ability to take direction, communication, and supervision from Service Manager and assigned Project Manager

Up to 35% based on HMC projects and time of year
Must have and be able to maintain a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per HM Cragg insurance carrier standard
Must pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening
Required travel to customer sites out of town for overnight and/or extended periods of time
Must be able to work flexible hours, days, and overtime, as needed
Ability to lift items up to 150 lbs. multiple times a day
Ability to obtain Class C Commercial Driver's License where required by state law
Must maintain compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) random drug and alcohol screening requirements
