Emerald Equipment Systems is looking to add another Field Service Coordinator to our team, for immediate full-time employment.
Emerald Equipment Systems is a full-service equipment sales and service company serving the needs of the aggregate and materials processing industries throughout the northeast.
The Field Service Coordinator position supports our clients operations by providing troubleshooting and field service coordination for equipment across both our client base and rental fleet throughout the northeast. This position requires knowledge in planning and directing field service and repairs of heavy machinery. The Field Service Coordinator will be required to field calls from customers and determine what repairs, parts and personnel will be required to make necessary repairs, and then will follow through with purchasing and tracking shipments of needed parts, schedule our Field Service Technicians for the repairs, and coordinate the repairs with our customers to ensure timely and effective repairs of equipment in the field. Strong interpersonal communication skills, customer service, parts look-up, shipping/logistics, troubleshooting, and computer skills are required for Field Service Coordinators to be successful. Familiarity with heavy machinery, parts ordering and equipment service are critical. Emerald Equipment Systems will provide training specific to the equipment we provide and our rental fleet, however, applicants should be able to demonstrate that they have experience diagnosing mechanical issues and the ability to determine the best options for repair.
This position will based out of our Liverpool, NY office, and will report directly to the Service Manager.
- Supervisory responsibilities for Field Service Technicians.
- Provides technical and maintenance leadership/support to all Shop Mechanics, Field Service Technicians, and outside contractors.
- Reviews the reports, worksheets, parts orders, time sheets, documentation, expenses, etc. that all staff and outside contractors generate as part of their job.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical issues for heavy equipment.
- Receive calls/requests from customers and Sales for service support. Develop and implement plans to effectively provide the requested support.
- Source and expedite parts needed for repairs and coordinate deliveries to facilitate timely repair in coordination with planned field repairs. Develop relationships with parts suppliers and secure best pricing for parts and outside services.
- Promote the sale of spare parts and additional services.
- Work as a team with sales personnel to provide superior customer service.
- Maintain daily service log and Field Service Technician schedule.
- Participate and report in daily Field Service conference calls with Service team.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Ensure all staff and outside contractors are properly trained.
- Ensure all staff and outside contractors perform their jobs in a safe and effective manner.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Maintains a clean and profession appearance.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

- Extensive knowledge of all equipment in Emerald Equipment Systems Sales offering and rental fleet.
- High proficiency in equipment troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, fault code troubleshooting etc.
- Ability to communicate with sales/service engineers and outside vendors to provide additional support when necessary.
- Ability to source parts from various suppliers and identify most cost-effective and timely sources for parts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including plans, reports, schedules, e-mail, meetings, phone calls, etc. with staff and contractors, sales, customers, vendors, and senior management.
