Overview:
We are seeking an experienced field safety representative to join our safety team. This position is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment while ensuring the health and safety of all employees. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with both internal safety protocols and regulatory requirements, lead incident investigations, identify and address potential hazards, and other related tasks. This is a full-time position based out of Canton, PA. The salary is negotiable and based on experience.
Qualifications:
•Proven expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation procedures
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong communication and organizational skills
•Strong knowledge of safety regulations for federal, state, and local guidelines (FMCSA, DOT, OSHA)
•Demonstrated experience leading safety initiatives within the transportation or logistics sectors
•2 or more years of safety experience in the trucking or transportation industry
Responsibilities:
•Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks associated with a trucking company
•Foster a positive safety culture within the team, encouraging employees to report hazards and actively participate in safety initiatives
•Conduct accident and injury investigations and manage workers' compensation and vehicle-related claims
•Directly responsible for field safety, training, and ensuring regulatory compliance
•Manage the distribution, inventory, and proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), training records, and inspection reports
•Provide on-call safety support as needed and manage safety-related coaching and discipline for drivers
•Monitor and address unsafe driving behaviors, reviewing Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs), complaints, accidents, and telematics data
