Job Summary: As the Field Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing and managing safety programs, policies, and procedures at various job sites and locations within the oil and gas industry. Your primary objective will be to foster a culture of safety consciousness, reduce workplace accidents, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs tailored to the oil and gas industry.
Regularly review and update safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry best practices and regulations.
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
Safety Training and Education: Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions to employees, subcontractors, and site personnel on various safety topics, including hazard recognition, PPE usage, emergency response, and incident reporting.
Monitor training compliance and ensure all employees are adequately trained and certified as per job requirements.
Incident Investigation and Reporting: Conduct thorough investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and preventive measures.
Prepare detailed incident reports, documenting findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
Safety Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant safety regulations, codes, and industry standards to ensure full compliance.
Work closely with management and project teams to address safety-related concerns and implement corrective actions promptly.
Emergency Response Preparedness: Collaborate with emergency response teams and develop emergency plans for various scenarios, ensuring effective response and evacuation procedures are in place.
Safety Communication: Promote safety awareness and maintain regular communication with employees regarding safety performance, trends, and initiatives.
Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety protocols and gather feedback.
Incident Data Analysis: Analyze safety data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas requiring improvement.
Prepare and present safety performance reports to management for evaluation and decision-making.
OSHA 10hr/30hr, PEC Safeland, H2S, and CPR/1stAid or industry equivalents required.
Relevant current certifications and/or previous experience operating equipment such as Forklift class IV, V and VII and Man-Lift are advantageous.
Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) within the oil and gas industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of industry standard PPE, personal gas monitors, hand tools, power tools, and JSAs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels and build a positive safety culture.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and lead safety initiatives effectively.
Willingness to travel to various job sites and locations as required.
