Job Summary
The Field Mechanic is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, diagnostics, and repair tasks on a variety of machinery and equipment in the field. Responsibilities
•Service, maintain, and ensure proper function of hydraulic fracturing equipment pumps and pneumatic systems
•Perform basic mechanic duties (i.e., filter changes, diagnostics, repairs, etc.)
•Install and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts and create work orders for all discovery work and performed repairs
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities (i.e., order parts using Power Apps, generate QC daily reports, etc.)
•Immediately communicate failures to Field Mechanic Lead or Supervisor
•Supply own tools for each shift.
•Perform general housekeeping of parts trailer, service trucks, and work area
•Safely drive a company vehicle day or night, on all road types, and in all weather conditions
•Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
•Follow HSE procedures on location (watch for high pressure lines, observation of red zone boundaries, perform lock out tag out, etc.)
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
•2 + years mechanical experience, required
•A Technical Associates degree or certificate is preferred
•High School diploma or equivalent, required
•Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
•Must know basic hydraulic fracturing equipment, pump and blender operations, and be able to identify key blender components
•Must be familiar with electronic instrumentation and automation equipment
•Clear communication skills, able to effectively interact with team members, leads, and supervisors
•Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English
•Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications, Power Apps, and able to quickly learn other work-related software
•Safety conscious, observant, and willing to use stop work authority when necessary
•Must be physically able to safely perform duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days, nights, holidays, and weekends
•Must be physically able to safely perform duties in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold
•Must be physically able to remain alert and safe during exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noises
•Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
•Must be physically able to safely lift or move 50 lbs. without assistance
•Daily bonus for days worked, subject to change
