Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Field Mechanic to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform preventive maintenance and repair on construction equipment at job sites, ensuring it operates safely and efficiently. This includes diagnostics, on-site troubleshooting, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
•Maintain regular communication with the Equipment Manager regarding daily goals and needs
•Conduct diagnostics to determine whether equipment can be serviced on-site or must be moved to the Maintenance Shop
•Communicate repair details to the Shop Foreman
•Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on-site
•Replace or repair damaged/non-functioning parts as needed
•Prioritize tasks and execute responsibilities efficiently
•Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE
•Comply with all company policies and procedures
•Collaborate effectively with team members
•Assist asphalt crew when not engaged in mechanical work
•Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
•Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach
•Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
•Ability to work in variable outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, etc.)
•Must remain alert to equipment and traffic hazards on-site
•Frequent walking on uneven surfaces
•Work may be near active traffic lanes
Qualifications:
•Minimum 2 years of experience in diesel engine repair and mechanical maintenance (Required)
•Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills (Required)
•Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams is a plus
•Valid driver’s license (Required)
