Savanna Well Servicing Inc. ("Savanna") is currently seeking a Temporary HSE Field Advisor to support our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives across our field operations in the Leduc region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who thrives in a dynamic and field-focused role.
This temporary position is anticipated to be a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
•Travel extensively (80% field-based) to support rig operations throughout the Leduc operating region.
•Work directly with the HSE Manager and regional operations team to ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
•Mentor field personnel on HSE best practices, hazard recognition, and regulatory requirements.
•Participate in safety meetings, pre-job planning, training sessions, and client engagements.
•Conduct rig and site inspections, support incident investigations, and help drive root cause analysis and preventative actions.
•Analyze safety data to identify trends and recommend mitigation strategies.
•Remain current on OH&S legislation, AER requirements, and industry practices.
•Support multiple sites in remote locations across Western Canada (specifically BC and Alberta).
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
Minimum 5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in oilfield or well servicing operations*.
•Strong background in field-based incident investigations (Root Cause Analysis).
•Working knowledge of OH&S, AER, WCB regulations, and IRPs.
•Must maintain valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, BOP, etc.).
•Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
•Must reside in or near the Edmonton/Leduc area.
•Willingness to travel extensively to remote rig sites across Western Canada.
•Flexible availability, including weekends, overtime, and on-call rotations.
