Job Summary:
NAES is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Engineer to support construction activities at an active power/industrial project site in the Southeast. The Field Engineer will assist the Construction Manager in monitoring daily activities, maintaining field documentation, coordinating reports, and supporting RFIs, change tracking, and material receiving. This position is fully onsite and requires strong organizational and communication skills in a dynamic construction environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Construction Manager by tracking daily work activities against the construction schedule
- Maintain field progress trackers and cross-audit subcontractor submissions
- Collect and upload daily photos and field documentation into Procore
- Draft and track RFIs, change order items, and construction log entries
- Assist in building test packages, turnover documentation, and work packages
- Review drawings for updates and potential impacts to contract scope
- Assist with on-site material receiving and verification
- Participate in weekly reporting and progress coordination meetings
- Update piecemark info, weights, or equipment status based on vendor data
- Support the identification of field issues and assist in issue resolution- 2+ years of experience in industrial construction or field engineering (power, oil/gas, or heavy industrial preferred)
- Familiarity with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and I&C construction disciplines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore and Bluebeam preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively in a high-paced construction environment
- Must be able to work outdoors on an active construction site
- Ability to walk, stand, and climb on uneven surfaces and ladders on a daily basis
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
- 5+ years of experience supporting industrial construction projects in a field-based engineering or project support role- Experience with power generation, heavy industrial, or energy sector construction strongly preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore and Bluebeam preferred
