Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Splicer to join our team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiber splicing and field service operations. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in various environments.
Duties
•
Perform fiber splicing and termination on various types of cables.
•
Conduct field service tasks including installation and troubleshooting of low voltage systems.
•
Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently as required for job tasks.
•
Read and interpret schematics to ensure accurate installation and repairs.
•
Utilize voltmeters and other testing equipment to diagnose issues with cabling and network systems.
•
Collaborate with IT teams to support computer networking and WAN infrastructure.
•
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks.
Skills
•
Proficiency in fiber splicing techniques and related tools.
•
Strong understanding of low voltage systems and cabling practices.
•
Experience with field service operations in a technical environment.
•
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings effectively.
•
Familiarity with computer networking principles, including WAN configurations.
•
Knowledge of IT infrastructure components relevant to installation and maintenance tasks.
•
Capability to operate heavy equipment safely when required.
•
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality.
