What to Expect

As a Facility Technician you will be responsible for providing support for Terminal operations in Tacoma and Renton, Washington. You will participate as an integral team member and will be a key contributor to the organization from a support capacity. A successful Operator has a positive attitude and an aptitude for learning. A Technical/Operator Training Program is available. This position will be based out of Tacoma, WA.

What You’ll Do

Performing and providing technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and rotating equipment.

Performing planned maintenance checks and calibrations and submitting appropriate reports in a timely manner.

Coordinating activities as needed to assist in the receipt, storage, and delivery of petroleum products.

Performing operational duties in accordance with Phillips 66 operating and procedures guides and local operating procedures guides.

Identifying and promptly communicating operational and equipment problems and completing trouble reports.

Performing troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, calibrations, and replacement of equipment as necessary.

Performing equipment monitoring and maintenance documentation.

Monitoring and enforcing safety rules.

Assisting with construction and maintenance projects.

Writing and reviewing work permits associated with construction or maintenance in operating areas.

Supervising and providing direction to contract crews.

Completing and maintaining required safety and regulatory training.

Acquiring operator qualifications, as required.

Performing environmental and regulatory inspections (eliminating, containing and reporting all product seeps and spills).

Complying with all applicable OSHA safety regulations to include P66 safety policies and procedures.

Maintaining facility emergency equipment.

Identifying and pursuing improvement opportunities.

Coordinate and monitor tank product transfers and receipts to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Coordinate vessel tie-up activities and monitor ship-to-shore transfers in accordance with safety and environmental protocols.

Perform product quality testing and provide oversight of quality control procedures to ensure compliance with specifications.

What You’ll Bring – Required

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must maintain a valid driver's license

To travel up to 5% of the time, based on business needs.

Currently hold or be able to qualify to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card prior to employment start date. Note: information regarding TWIC qualification standards may be found at https://www.tsa.gov/twic

Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations:

To climb various ladders and stairs to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform maintenance on equipment are a part of this position. The ladders and stairs range from 5 to 40 feet in height

To raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds

To walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain

To work alone a high percentage of the time

To work overtime or shift work on an as-needed basis

To respond to emergency calls as needed

To work outside in harsh weather conditions

To work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat

To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)

To maintain your face so that a respirator / face mask can seal properly, (i.e. to be clean shaven (facial hair))

To perform firefighting duties

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

Associate’s degree in Electrical Maintenance, Instrumentation or Industrial Electronics

Technical Certification in Process Technology

3 or more years of direct operational experience in the oil and gas, or related, industry

Intermediate proficiency (perform the skill with limited assistance) with MS Office and SAP

Experience with the following:

Meter Proving experience

Accuload III experience

Allen-Bradley PLC's

Rosemount Transmitters

OMNI flow computer

Vapor Recovery Unit / Vapor Combustor Unit

Other general pipeline knowledge

Mechanical and rotating equipment experience

Compensation Range:

The base pay range for this role is $75,500 - $132,440 depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.

Midstream

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities.
