Facility Engineer II
Position Overview:
Redbud Partners is seeking a skilled and motivated Facility Engineer II to contribute to the design, implementation, and enhancement of oil and gas production facilities across our operating regions. This role is integral to supporting engineering and construction activities, ensuring all designs align with operational, safety, and environmental standards. Additionally, the position involves mentoring junior engineers and facilitating cross-functional collaboration throughout project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Design & Facility Planning:
•Lead development of detailed PFDs, P&IDs, and layout drawings for production and midstream facilities.
•Perform technical reviews and value engineering for facility designs, vendor packages, and instrumentation strategies.
•Support equipment sizing, specification development, and material selection aligned with project objectives and field conditions.
•Ensure designs adhere to ASME, API, B31.3, B31.4, and other applicable codes and standards.
Project Development & Execution:
•Serve as engineering lead for assigned facility projects, managing scope, schedule, and technical deliverables.
•Coordinate with construction, procurement, and field operations during project execution.
•Participate in constructability reviews and assist in field verification and redlines of IFC drawings.
•Support commissioning, startup, and turnover processes for new facilities and modifications.
Safety & Compliance:
•Ensure compliance with all companies, the federal, and state HSE regulations and engineering standards.
•Support hazard and operability studies (HAZOPs), process hazard analyses (PHAs), and Management of Change (MOC).
•Drive continuous improvement in safety through design enhancements and operational feedback.
Operations & Technical Support:
•Analyze performance data and troubleshoot issues to improve facility uptime and reliability.
•Provide ongoing engineering support to field operations and maintenance personnel.
•Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and develops engineering-based solutions.
•Support environmental and regulatory reporting through engineering documentation and calculations.
Performance Optimization:
•Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and process optimization.
•Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance facility performance and reliability.
Qualifications & Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil Engineering, or related field
•Master's degree is preferred
•A Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable
•5+ years of experience in facility design, engineering, or project management in oil and gas
•Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PIPEPHASE)
•Demonstrated knowledge of upstream production facility equipment and controls
•Proficiency in engineering software, CAD tools, and project management software
•Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure situations
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
•Willingness to travel to field sites (~25%) in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico
