SUMMARY
The Facilities Lead Technician will ensure the highest possible support necessary for the preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of car wash, petroleum and retail equipment at both company operated and external customer locations. The position supervises Facility Technicians and will ensure the highest level of customer service, including but not limited to, the timeliness of repairs, the quality of workmanship, and invoicing that is both prompt and accurate. The Facility Lead Technician is also responsible for adherence to safety policies and practices. This position will ensure timely communication to customers and receive authorization to make the necessary repairs, when required. The Facilities Lead Technician will also be required to attend on-going training to further professional development and to stay abreast of current trends in the car wash, petroleum and retail maintenance fields to ensure direct reports have the necessary skills to complete service request.
RESPONSIBILITIES BY COMPETENCY: (*denotes an essential function of the position)
Business Results Orientation
•Schedule and assign tasks and work areas to Facility Technicians according to skills, urgency, geography, and other pertinent factors to maximize technician efficiency, ensure geographic coverage, and meet established service levels and 24-hour service
•Review work order progress, materials used, costs, and other important data to make changes to schedules and allocate resources appropriately
•Ensure work orders are accurately completed at the end of every service call
Track vehicle maintenance,; and, schedule and ensure completion of regular maintenance tasks to reduce the likelihood of costly emergency repairs
•Maintain work area, vehicle, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition while following all safety regulations
•Schedule time to maximize repair time and reduce drive time
•Maintain and regulate existing c-store, petroleum and car wash equipment
Ask questions to understand Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and understand his/her contribution to the BSC
•Work with dispatcher to ensure elimination of repeat calls
Bring forward operational efficiency ideas to the supervisor and/or the BSC team
•Maintain regular attendance and follow designated safety practices
Perform other duties not listed as required
Communication
•Provide clear direction and expectations to direct reports
•Keep supervisor informed of opportunities and progress toward process improvements
Inform Facilities Dispatcher regarding status of services calls
•Effectively communicate repair status to customers
•Report to the supervisor any equipment issues that will result in the expenditure of funds above and beyond what is acceptable
Ensure communication with customers, suppliers, vendors, and co-workers is professional and appropriate Communicate to supervisor any customer service issues or any potential safety hazards
•Report any personal injuries or any damage done to company property or vehicles within policy timeframes
Customer Service Orientation
•Keep supervisor informed of opportunities and progress toward process improvements
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs when needed
Provide 24 hour on call services as needed
•Report to work in accordance with company uniform and appearance standards
•Exhibit a professional, customer friendly and helpful attitude while on the job
•Finish each call with an explanation of the repair and complete an electronic invoice
•Perform additional maintenance as requested based on time and resources
•Complete site and/or customer visits as required
Developing Talent
•Ensure staff has the necessary skills to complete the broad scope of service requests received by providing, encouraging, and supporting ongoing technical and safety training
•Attend training to further professional development according to company guidelines
•Stay abreast of current trends in the petroleum equipment industry and cross train others as needed
Attend continuing education workshops, seminars and study manuals pertaining to job classification
•Work as a team member to help improve individual, departmental and organizational performance
Provide experience, skills and expertise as needed to co-workers and other divisions
•Complete training as required to meet regulatory compliance and company guidelines
Safety
Attend and participate in safety meetings
•Work diligently to correct safety deficiencies in a timely manner
•Complete safety training required for this position
•Follow all safety policies and procedures
•Inform Supervisor or Manager of unsafe conditions and behaviors, and recommend how to correct or eliminate them
•Report all work-related injuries immediately
Cooperate with the medical provider, and follow the treatment plan and Return-to-Work Program
Work to avoid preventable accidents
•Adhere to all Wallis Companies safety policies and report all safety incidents to supervisor immediately
Technical Expertise
•Maintain comprehensive knowledge of maintenance dispatch and service information systems to accurately identify work requests, dispatch resources, accumulate and invoice for parts and labor costs, and utilize such systems to their maximum efficiency
•Ensure work orders are completed with a detail description regarding services performed
•Develop and maintain knowledge necessary for position
•Diagnose problems with equipment and make repairs as directed or make recommendations for repairs
•Maintain an excellent driving record and follow Vehicle Use Policy while in a Company vehicle
Install new and refurbished equipment
•Repair or replace defective parts
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
•Ensure work orders are completed accurately with a detail description regarding services performed
•Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to sounds to locate causes of trouble

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of each position. The position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work; managing development and certifications; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees up to and including termination with supervisor’s approval; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education: *Required: Equivalent to high school
Preferred: Additional training in related field
Experience: Preferred: At least 3 years of experience in maintenance, repairs or other related field

customers and the general public
