THE ROLE:
As a member of the Facilities Management team, the Facilities Attendant is tasked with ensuring the efficient operation of warehouse logistics, fleet maintenance, and the maintenance of grounds and buildings. The role requires a high degree of organization, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. The Facilities Attendant executes warehousing and logistics functions, as well as interior and exterior repair, maintenance, and upgrade projects in a timely and methodical manner.

Demonstrating a robust service orientation, the Facilities Attendant executes their duties and responsibilities proactively and collaboratively. Additional qualifications and attributes include:
•High school diploma or equivalent is required.
•1-2 years of applicable experience in warehouse, fleet maintenance, or building maintenance roles is required.
•Basic mechanical and maintenance skills required and the willingness and ability to use various hand tools or equipment as required.
•Forklift certification is an asset.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, accompanied by a willingness to learn and use other technologies and software as required.
•Solid organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
•Good interpersonal skills that promote safe, collaborative, and inclusive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and contractors accompanied by solid verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate, persuade and influence others.
•Ability to think critically to effectively evaluate and resolve problems and identify solutions.
•Exhibits an uncompromising commitment to always working safely, and reporting and resolving hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
•Ability to carry out physical duties associated with this role, including but not limited to being able to lift up to 50 lbs, perform physical tasks that require bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching, and walking, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
•Possession of a Drivers’ License that is valid and in good standing is required.
•Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding role with a focus on teamwork and safety.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Warehouse Support
•Perform shipping and receiving duties, including loading/unloading vehicles, verifying inventory, and maintaining accurate records.
•Organize and manage materials, ensuring stock levels are maintained and supplies are ordered as needed.
•Reorder and replenish stock such as PPE, general supplies, and camp-related materials.
•Prepare shipments for remote camps, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
•Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification is an asset).
•Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the warehouse.
Fleet Maintenance
•Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are clean and sanitized, refuelled and fluids topped up, and stocked with functional communication and safety equipment.
•Perform basic vehicle maintenance and coordinate service or repairs as needed.
•Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and inspections.
•Coordinate vehicle sign-in and sign-out processes, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
Building Maintenance
•Perform general maintenance and housekeeping tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting as needed and required.
•Ensure the building and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
•Conduct seasonal groundskeeping tasks, including snow removal, salting, and landscaping.
•Provide access to contractors and employees as required.
Camp Services Coordination
•Support coordination of goods and services deliveries heading to the remote camp, ensuring timely and efficient service.
•Review replenishment requests received from camp services.
•Collaborate with camp services to ensure all supplies and materials are delivered as needed.
Safety and Compliance
•Manage the PPE sign-in/out process, ensuring company-issued equipment is returned to stock clean, sanitized and in good repair.
•Inspect, replenish and maintain vehicle safety kits and roadside safety equipment.
•Follow all safety protocols and company policies, including ensuring contractor compliance to company policies and procedures.
•Participate in safety training programs, conduct regular inspections of the workplace and emergency equipment.
Additionally, the successful candidate shall:
•Carry out the responsibilities of this site-based position on a Monday to Friday schedule.
•Participate in overtime and on-call support as required.
•Understand that tasks and duties are carried out across several Denison properties; Operating a company truck is a requirement for this position.
•Be comfortable working independently and at times work in remote locations and with third party contractors.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
•Understand that this role is subject to background verification checks as part of the pre-employment screening process and as required thereafter in accordance with company policy.
•Be legally authorized to work in Canada.
