In the last 3 years we have invested over 5 million dollars in machinery, including: plasma profiling (Voortman 807), lasers (tube laser, (2) 20kW sheet lasers, (1) 40kW giga laser), powder coating (up to 30'), press brakes, and more.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fabrication Supervisor to join our team and oversee the welding and fabrication department. This role requires a dynamic individual who can lead with respect, communicate effectively, and ensure the highest quality and efficiency in production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
•Review daily production logs from each operator to ensure accuracy and completion.
•Supervise fabrication activities, including fit-up, welding, and lifting in our 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art shop.
•Champion regular communication meetings with various departments to align on production goals.
•Facilitate the “shift to shift” plant communication method to disseminate key information across the organization.
•Provide direct leadership and supervision to hourly production colleagues, ensuring processes and procedures are adhered to for maximum efficiency and quality.
•Oversee the highest quality standards and ensure on-time completion of production tasks.
•Lead and direct department team members, assigning tasks to welders and ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
•Maintain equipment cleanliness and housekeeping, promptly report equipment failures, and collaborate with other departments to meet production goals.
•Maintain detailed records of production activities and provide training, support, direction, and guidance to department personnel.
•Evaluate employee performance and ensure accountability while monitoring the quality of welding work against industry standards.
•Develop, implement, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and practices within the workplace.
•Report on project status, including delays due to equipment, materials, or other issues at daily production meetings.
•Train new fabricators in proper welding techniques and safety procedures.
•Coordinate and interface effectively with welding, shipping, maintenance, paint, blast, and laser departments.
•Communicate and update jobs and processes within the ERP system.
Qualifications:
•Proven experience in a supervisory role within a production or manufacturing environment, particularly in welding and fabrication.
•Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
•Ability to foster a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement.
•Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
•Experience in training and developing team members.
•Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
•Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) preferred but not required.
•Familiar with best practices within fabrication, structural steel, railings, stairs, and misc. metals.
•Proficient in computers - ability to communicate via email and learn our ERP system.
•Familiarity with AISC standards as we are looking to become AISC certified.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
