Role Overview
The Fabrication Manager supervises a team of welders and fabricators who work on the necessary component parts of a piping fabrication that supports the organization’s production goals and objectives while meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations.
Lead/Supervisor/Manager Responsibilities
•Personal integrity, leadership skills, and communications ability to inspire optimum performance among a diverse set of employees.
Responsibilities
•Directs entire fabrication production workflow.
•Oversees interpretation of drawings/specifications.
•Demonstrates understanding of core welding technologies and educates team.
•Interfaces with various levels in the organization and shares information as required.
•Enforces established safety guidelines; promotes a safe workplace.
•Maintains accurate records and metrics.
•Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
•Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
•Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops fabrication staff; manages schedules and workflow.
•Performs additional duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
•Education: High School Diploma or GED. College degree preferred.
•Certified in welding, forklift certification.
•5+ years or more of experience in fabrication supervision in same/similar industry or role.
•3 + years successfully managing a team of employees.
•Computer literate; Proficient with MS Office 365.
•Expert level distribution-specific ERP systems skills.
•Ability to effectively communicate [written and verbal].
•Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
•Detailed oriented work style comfortable with multiple priorities being juggled while maintaining a consistent work approach.
•Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
•Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug test.
