Experienced Manufacturing Painter - Wet Spray

Job Title: Production Associate – Industrial Metal Painter

Reports To: Paint / Assembly Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

Apply coating in the form of powder or wet paint to metal parts and products. Candidates should be able to read blueprints in order to prep metal for paint as well.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints

· Apply protective coatings to large industrial structures

· Use proper protective equipment, and maintain required hygiene for respirator

· Maintain clean and organized equipment and paint booth (i.e. sprayer equipment, and application tools – brushes)

· Assess issues with surface preparation

· Assist in identifying welds and excessive splatter to be repaired

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Must have a minimum of 3 months experience as a Manufacturing Wet Sprayer or Powder Coater. Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to read blueprints, use calipers, protractors and machinist squares is a must; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
