The Executive Director of Enterprise Risk at LADWP will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the organization’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework. This role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could potentially impact the organization’s strategic objectives and operational success. The Executive Director will work closely with senior leadership and various departments to ensure a comprehensive and proactive approach to risk management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop and implement enterprise risk management policies and procedures.
•Developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk registry and process development framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
•Creating and refining strategic risk indicators, dashboards, and key performance indicators to monitor and review the enterprise risk framework.
•Identify and assess potential risks that could affect LADWP’s strategic objectives.
•Review and evaluate the organization’s risk appetite and tolerance levels.
•Communicate risk policies and processes throughout the organization.
•Conduct risk assessments and produce reports for the executive team.
•Coordinate with other departments to identify, monitor, and manage risks.
•Ensure the organization’s compliance with risk-related laws, regulations, and standards.
•Provide training to staff about risk management principles and practices.
•Lead and manage the risk management team.
•Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in risk management practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business administration, or a related field.
•A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CRM, FRM) is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
•In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
•Experience in the utility or public sector is a plus.
EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
•The current salary range is $285,116.40 to $354,229.20. A highly competitive benefits package includes benefits established by resolutions of the Board of Water and Power Commissioners, such as parking, a takehome vehicle, subsidized health and dental insurance, sick leave, vacation, two floating holidays, 13 paid holidays, an annual executive physical (must be taken while employed), life insurance, retirement, and disability/death benefits. Reimbursement of relocation expenses may be considered.

*The position of Executive Director of Enterprise Risk is an exempt, at-will management position. The incumbent will not accrue any civil service tenure, contractual employment rights or due process rights. The Executive Director of Enterprise Risk is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Chief Executive Officer. The incumbent may be removed, without any finding of cause, by the Chief Executive Officer. Such removal would not be reviewable or appealable.
