Excavator Operator – Manhattan Gulch, Round Mountain, NV

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team at Manhattan Gulch, a family-owned and operated gold mine that values hard work, safety, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment for mining, excavation, and earthmoving tasks. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

•

$35 - $45 per hour (based on experience and productivity)

•

Extensive overtime opportunities available for additional earnings

•

$40 per diem per day

•

Company-provided housing

•

3 weeks on, 10 days off work schedule

•

7:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily work schedule (Monday-Saturday, Sundays off)

•

4 weeks off during winter holidays

Key Responsibilities:

•

Operate excavators and possibly other heavy equipment as needed, including graders, bulldozers, wheel loaders, etc. to perform mining and earthmoving tasks.

•

Dig trenches, foundations, and mine structures according to operational specifications.

•

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently.

•

Work in compliance with mine safety regulations, MSHA standards (preferred), and environmental protocols.

•

Assist in site preparation, debris clearing, and ground leveling as needed.

•

Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate mining operations and ensure project timelines are met.

Qualifications:

•

Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment in a mining or construction environment.

•

MSHA certification preferred or willingness to obtain it.

•

Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic repairs on equipment.

•

Ability to dig accurately according to specifications while maintaining strict safety standards.

•

Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.

•

Physical stamina and strength to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
