Location: 403 Gravel Plant Road, Lilesville, NC 28091

Job Title: Excavator Operator

Hourly Pay: $22-24/hr depending on experience

Reports to: Superintendent

Position Summary:

The Excavator Operator is an important position to load a variety of materials including dirt, lose or processed rock, and boulders at the quarry site. This position operates an excavator keeping safety top of mind by performing pre-shift inspections and preventative maintenance on the equipment. The Excavator Operator must be familiar with operating and maintaining the excavator to achieve maximum life of the equipment along with the attachment and components including bucket, tracks, and undercarriage. This position is great for someone who prefers to work alone.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be eighteen years of age or older

· Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

· Must have a track-record of being a dependable employee

· Able to load a variety of materials - including dirt, lose or processed rock, boulders - in an efficient manner using an excavator

· Familiarity with operating and maintaining excavator to achieve maximum life of attachment and components (including bucket, tracks, undercarriage)

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Operate excavator within the company guidelines and safety standards

· Perform daily pre-shift inspection of equipment and report needed repairs to the supervisor

· Performs preventative maintenance procedures such as lubrication and is responsible for good housekeeping of equipment

· Aides in the training of co-workers as needed

· Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Essential Functions, Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

· Pre-employment drug screening

· Able to work outdoors in most weather conditions

· Able to work in a physically rigorous work environment. Position may involve walking, standing, sitting, bending, and climbing stairs. Job may require crouching, stooping, or crawling.

· Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

· Able to climb steps/ladders

· Able to sit for hours

· Able to shovel material
