Position Summary
The Estimating Supervisor will be responsible for building, developing and successfully leading a team of Estimators. This is a working supervisor role. As such, the person in this role will pursue bid opportunities in addition to their supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
•Supervise a staff of estimators and take the lead on hiring, training, coaching and performance management for those employees.
•Exercise discretion and independent judgment to determine which bids to pursue on behalf of Balco.
•Independently prepare project proposals and manage the process from bidding to contracting in accordance with company policies and procedures.
•Assist with preparation and tracking of estimating metrics
•Prepare reports for senior management
•Maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends in designated markets to anticipate changing customer needs
•Collaborate with and support the sales team

•Set and track estimating goals for team members; meet regularly with direct reports to review progress, performance level, and training needs; address issues as they arise

Qualifications (Knowledge & Skills)
•Able to hire, manage performance, and develop team member skills and capabilities
•Advanced knowledge of the building products, construction, and specified sales processes
•Able to read, interpret, and understand building plans
•Able to identify and implement opportunities for systems, process, and cost improvements
•Able to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and customers verbally and in writing.
•Able to work collaboratively with direct team members, or across departments, and work independently as needed
•Familiarity with Estimating takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, E Take Off, Salesforce, Procore, Planswift, On-Screen Takeoff
•Proficient in MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, Power Point)
•Proficiency in basic to intermediate math
Education
•High school diploma or equivalent required
•Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Construction Management preferred
•A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
Experience
•3+ years of estimating experience is required
•2+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role is preferred
•2+ years of construction experience is required (commercial construction experience is preferred)
•Experience using a CRM software (Salesforce preferred)
Work Environment
•Physical Conditions: This position works in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment, and is seated for long periods of time.
•Construction: This position requires the ability to work in typical construction work environments and utilize the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e.: hard hat, eye/face protection, hearing protection, steel toes, etc.
•Location: This role is located at our office in Wichita, KS.
Other Requirements
•Candidates who receive an offer of employment must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
•Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally
•Must be able to safely lift 40 pounds
•Travel: Occasional travel to job sites or client meetings.
Compensation: CSW Industrials has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing salary ranges to ensure we remain competitive. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the CSWI Board of Directors. Some sales roles are also eligible for a sales bonus.
