Position Summary:
The Estimator Coordinator plays a vital support role within the MEPF estimating team, assisting in the preparation, organization, and coordination of all estimating activities. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and communication across departments to support competitive and timely bid submissions for complex commercial and industrial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
•Coordinate and support the preparation of detailed cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection scopes of work.
•Review and organize incoming bid invitations, drawings, and specifications.
•Maintain the bid calendar and coordinate proposal deadlines, pre-bid meetings, site visits, and subcontractor communications.
•Assist in quantity takeoffs and gather pricing information from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
•Ensure all estimate documentation is organized, complete, and submitted on time.
•Support the team in value engineering efforts and comparative analysis of different systems and designs.
•Maintain and update the historical cost database, subcontractor/vendor contacts, and estimating tools.
•Facilitate internal handoff meetings from estimating to operations once the project is awarded.
•Serve as a communication hub between estimating, engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
•Help prepare bid packages and final proposal submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
Qualifications:
•Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
•2+ years of experience in construction estimating or project coordination (MEPF experience highly preferred).
•Familiarity with construction documents, MEPF systems, and industry standards.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar.
•Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
