Our position is for a full-time Facility Operator at our Kansas City, facility. The ideal operator would possess good organizational, time management, problem-solving, and housekeeping skills. We want people who look for opportunities to learn new skills and can contribute to making our facility an even better place to work.
Our facility operators produce neat and polymer modified asphalt oil for sale to paving and repair customers. The position works in the tank farm with other operators as a team to produce, process, ensure quality, and load/unload materials directly to our customers.
Facility Operator Job Duties
•Be committed and Supportive of Ergon's culture, safety and core values.
•Stages packaging containers, fills pails, drums and totes with products on packaging lines to prepare product for shipment.
•Record filling data for inventory verification.
•Provide assistance for packaging products in preparation for shipment.
•Provide assistance in setting up, operating and tending equipment that mixes, blends or processes required ingredients in the manufacture of finished products.
•Maintains clean work area and promotes safe work habits.
•Maintains good working relationships with all co-workers, customers and associates. Works in a participative manner with supervisor and co-workers.
•Responsible for handling hazardous materials with in proper safety parameters.
•Perform other duties as required.
Operator Requirements
•Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
•Possess time management skills for reporting to work on time and to meet deadlines.
•Possess a strong commitment to team environment and exercises personal initiative.
•Ability to perform work with minimal supervision.
•Good verbal and written communications.
•Possess basic mathematics skills
•Pass a pre-employment assessment test.
•Proficiency with computers and computer software, including Microsoft Office products, desirable.
•Capable of becoming fork truck certified.
•Ability to complete all required training for required tasks for this position.
