This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan. This role is hybrid to Jackson, MI and will require reporting onsite every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Travel to job locations within Michigan will be anticipated 25% depending on the location of the project or for department meetings and/or training.
This position reports directly to the Director of Clean Energy Project Development with the primary assignment of supporting the Natural Gas Development Manager as well as other Development Managers as needed.
Ethical leadership within the Consumers Energy code of conduct guidance is required.
Precisely define the scope of the project; prepare the project schedule, and update the schedule as it evolves; propose the project budget, and then manage the project so that it doesn't cause cost overruns; ensure the project team has the supplies and human resources necessary to get the project done on time and on budget; identify and minimize potential risks to the project timeline and budget; ensure all project team members understand what their responsibilities are; communicate the project's progression to management; and ensure the quality of the team's work and any supplies or materials used by the team
Provide a positive customer interface while addressing project scope, safety, quality, schedule, and cost issues. Direct high quality communication with the customer is very important.
Communicate effectively across the organization to ensure successful project outcomes.
Work with support groups such as engineering, scheduling, cost controls, construction, and startup and testing staff to ensure that proper alignments and support occur.
Work with Architect/Engineering firms to ensure high quality and timely support occurs on assigned projects.
Work a flexible schedule that supports the demands and needs of the department and Plant. Typical work week is 40-50 hours.
Applied engineering or equivalent working experience; including project management experience. Project Management Professional certification is preferred.
Experience in natural gas generating plant development, project management, and construction is preferred.
The candidate must know the business of project management and have good project management skills.
Highly organized with the ability to actively align the project with the department and Company business needs and goals.
Ability to solve a range of problems quickly utilizing project management methodologies.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $ 47-$55/hr
