The Green Bay, Wisconsin office of GEI is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a seasonal position during the 2025 summer field season to perform a broad range of environmental-related services such as preliminary/Phase I Environmental Site Assessments; soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling, Phase II Site Assessments, Environmental Compliance planning and reporting and Air Quality Permitting and Reporting. The employment time frame is desired to be late May through August with flexibility on specific start/end dates. Workload is expected to vary between 40-60 hours per week.
This position requires an introductory level of skill and experience. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a variety of field and office conditions and will use and maintain sampling/survey equipment, vehicles, power tools, GPS equipment, field tables, and computers to document activities. Relevant experience in environmental engineering, geoscience, or environmental science is preferred
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
•Support of fieldwork efforts including, but not limited to:
•Preliminary Environmental Site Assessments, including TSAs and Phase I ESAs.
•Soil, soil vapor and groundwater assessments in support of contaminant evaluations.
•Environmental field sampling.
•Documentation of contaminated soil and groundwater management associated with site redevelopment and roadway construction projects.
•Gathering site information to support the preparation and amendment of environmental contingency plans.
•Understanding and abiding by GEI Health and Safety Plans and procedure.
•Work under physically demanding conditions in variable weather and sometimes difficult terrain.
•A typical workday consists of 8-12-hour days and may include irregular hours (early start times) in excess of 40 per week.
•Traveling throughout Wisconsin, Michigan and adjacent states, likely including multiple nights per week out of town working at remote locations.
•Collecting field data, data summary/analysis, preliminary report writing.
Minimum Qualifications
•Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to commute to office and/or project site(s).
•Ability to perform fieldwork, including assignments with overnight or extended travel.
•Comfort working outdoors in remote areas in heat, cold, and wet conditions.
•Willingness to cross-train as needed to support remediation projects.
•Basic understanding of Microsoft Office software.
•40-hr. HazWoper trained.

•Positive, flexible, team-oriented approach, with the willingness and desire to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
•Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced work environment.
•Effective time management and follow-through, with the ability to simultaneously work on and lead multiple tasks/projects and meet project deadlines.
•Standard First Aid and CPR training.
•GPS/ArcGIS experience is a plus.
•Drive and operation of trucks.
